I haven't done a transformation post in a while so I figured I'd throw one up and also talk about the part not many think about. Growing up, I was overweight. I was told by my family I was "big boned" and was really confident about it. This is just who I was. I could tell you why I lost the weight, but its been said and done. I want to tell you about after the weight loss. See, I was always used to not being asked out. Not having dates to dances until last minute. Not expecting anyone to like me. It didn't bother me, I just came to expect it. I threw myself into being alone. Writing, reading, doing all sorts of stuff that didn't involve social interaction. Once I lost the weight, I saw a huge change in how people treated me. Girls were mean. Guys flirted. I'm actually extremely uncomfortable being hit on or having any kind of male attention. I figured if I guy liked me, it was a prank or a bet one of his friends had put him up to. I used to be so jealous of the "skinny" girls. People who know my journey or knew me before I lost the weight greet me with "you look so great!" People who assume I've always looked like this don't have a word to say. That's okay. Please just understand everyone has a story for how they look and present themselves. Losing weight changed the clothes I wore and the way I look, but it doesn't change who I am. If anything, I became a lot more understanding and compassionate for people. We are all struggling. Having a "fit" body doesn't bring happiness. As your body transforms, your mind has to too. I believe that's the hardest part. Getting to the gym and eating vegetables isn't half as difficult as reminding yourself and those around you that you're still you.
#7WeeksOut. 252lbs for 3x5. Shoulder still bugging me to the point where low Bar with a straight bar isnt doable. So highish bar #duffalobar squats were the safest bet. Never trained during meet Prep with an injury of this extent before, so it's a learning experience and testing my patience for sure. Thanks to @aubreycosmos for pushing me to hit this weight that I didn't think I was capable of today. @tonymontgomeryjr @tmnutrition_
